In Memory of Tiny Dancer

Tiny passed away today. She had perked up the other day, was eating well, walking around and sunning herself. Then yesterday she was moping around. Her legs got really weak, by evening she couldn't stand. I had her with me today, sleeping in her towel on the couch beside me. A half hour ago she passed away.

Tiny was a special chicken. Her scissor beak aside, she loved people and would follow me around. She loved sleeping on the couch and on her "bed" in my room. Every night she would spend a few hours eating in my room (it took her that long to fill herself up with her beak being crooked) and then she would come out to the living room and cluck at me to pick her up and set her on the couch. She would then settle down and sleep there until I was ready for bed. In my room, she would sleep on a little padded stool by my bed.

I will miss waking up every morning and saying morning to her. She was always there to greet me. And saying good night to her every night, and the way she would run with a hop in her step when I called her. And her strange fascination with screws, which she would peck at for hours when she saw them on the cages.

Tiny, you will always be loved and remembered. I miss you so much already.
